Why do people assume ALL black women know about fake hair?

I'm not saying people on this section, I just mean in reality..

I know NOTHING about it.. simply cause I've always worn my natural hair, and if I wanted it straightened I would just use a hot comb...

Why do people assume ALL black women know about fake hair?

Probably because the majority of black women that are being broadcasted on syndicated television and radio are the ones that wear weaves......all the time. And when they aren't, they're being ridiculed. See Below

Why do people assume ALL black women know about fake hair?

I don't I assume hair stylist know about fake hair.

Why do people assume ALL black women know about fake hair?

STEREOTYPES! alto of black people women wear weaves extenstions and braids etc

Why do people assume ALL black women know about fake hair?

because one black person has a weave.or fake hair

that judgemental inconsiderate jerk automatically thinks oh hey shes black she has a weave.

its average jerks for you.

its like oh hes indian wheres his dot.

wtf?yeah incondiserate people=]

Why do people assume ALL black women know about fake hair?

I think that any "absolute" statements like this one are biased and stereotypical in the first place. There are still many people in the world who do not know that black women sometimes wear "fake hair" but not all do. It seems a product of urban areas although it has caught on in rural areas it is not as predominant nor necessary for the everyday person. ALL includes women from the entire country, the islands, Europe, African and the moon for that matter. It is impossible for ALL black women to know about the same thing simultaneously and I see that is probably your point.

The mature view is that a few people may ask you something of which they are ignorant and you subscribe to the idea that people of different races are going to run to you to ask you about where to buy "fake" hair. Most people do not care in the least nor do they think about it. I love hair, natural, fake, curly, straight...but I know that not ALL women feel the same way. They have jobs to attend to, sons at war, children to rear and classes to teach. ALL or NOTHING is a very limited view and you need to see that for the truth. I'm happy that you are wearing your natural hair but the black woman who wants to wear fake hair is probably not even thinking about you. The reality is that we are not our hair in the first place.
