How do you fix dry damaged hair inexpensibly?

I have always had dry hair but it was still very nice and I got compliments all the time, I got a perm about 4 months ago and it still is not out all the way. I can't even comb it until it is dry then it breaks and falls out. What can I do?

How do you fix dry damaged hair inexpensibly?

Use a protein pack once a week. There are some good ones at Sallys beauty supply about a $2pk (you get a few uses out of 1). Some smell nasty but they strengthen your hair. %26amp; use a moisture treatment every other day to keep it flexible ($2pk). When you wash your hair don't scrunch it up, smooth the shampoo through, you can still scrub your scalp just do it underneath your hair. No sense tangleing it more. Get a wide toothed comb for combing it when its wet. %26amp; if you need it, put some conditioner in a spray bottle with mostly water as a cheap tangle spray.

And I hate to say the "cut" word, but your gonna need to trim the ends quite a bit. That way you won't tear out or break as much hair when you comb it. Plus it will look better as it grows out without the fried ends.

you need to go to Sally's beauty supply store and buy a weekly deep conditioner. apply it after you shampoo, cover with a shower cap and leave on for 20 minutes! and don't wash your hair every day maybe every other day. when you condition your hair normally leave it in for 3-5 minutes before you rinse it so the steam from the shower can push it into your hair shaft. and always comb through with fingers while conditioner is in. use shine serum before you blow dry or use any thermal appliances on your hair!!! good luck hope this helps you

use a hot oil treatment pretty inexpensive at the walgrens and take a general vitamin and maybe some E alone for the hair and also peanut butter as a treatment and beer will help and dont use regular shampoo everyday it kills dry hair everyother day is enough

How do you fix dry damaged hair inexpensibly?

It sounds like you need moisture in your hair. You should get a shampoo and conditioner that will replace the moisture and elasticity in your hair and since you mentioned you had a perm you will want products that are for chemically damaged hair. You may also want to try a weekly treatment just to boost the moisture replacement. Sometimes a little bit of a trim helps get rid of the damage.

How do you fix dry damaged hair inexpensibly?

look into getting a cute short cut. You cant correct damage like that with products nothing will fix it except a good cut. In four months your hair only grows 2 inches. Don't waste your money on products. There are some really cute short styles and your hair will eventually grow back. I have had this problem before and tried everything! your hair will just keep breaking off until it grows out

How do you fix dry damaged hair inexpensibly?

ok. don't wash your hair for a day or two. yes! do not wash for a day or two! this will give the oils in your hair a chance to repare the damage. and you can wash your hair with water too. but don't rub the water in your hair. just rinse it. and go to a salon and see what they can do there. get a hot oil treatment or get your hair deep conditoned. good luck!

Most of the reasons for dry hair come from external factors, such as:

閳?sun damage

閳?over use of styling aids

閳?colouring and perming.

Dry hair is mostly caused by the sebaceous glands producing too little oil. A low oil secretion reduces the natural protection of the hair and moisture content.

Also, if you have been ill and prescribed medication the hair can become damaged and dry.

Dry hair does not need washing as often as normal or greasy hair. Once or twice a week is all you'll need to keep it clean and cleanse your scalp.

Choose a nourishing shampoo for dry hair. It'll help protect it without stripping it of any natural oils.

Condition your hair regularly with an intensive treatment to prevent further damage and lock in the moisture you might have lost due to all that hair styling.

If you can bear it, let your hair dry naturally to give it a rest from all those heated appliances. Also a regular trim will get rid of any split ends and keep it looking good.

How do I get rid of the annoying bend in my hair???

I have slightly wavy, layered shoulder length hair. But on my left side, theres this unnatural bend in my hair, which looks really weird cos its flat on top, curved in the middle then staight again at the ends. I've tried everything, blow-drying, air-drying, combing/brushing, cutting, straightening... but they dont work so I result to tying it into a boring old ponytail almost everyday.

Is it the ponytail that makes the bend? I can't help it, I have to tie it for school. So now when I leave it down, my hair looks smooth and nice on the right side and as if I have a huge ear underneath it on the left side. Pls help!

How do I get rid of the annoying bend in my hair???

the best advice i can give it to stop wearing it in a ponytail for a while- i have something similar, but it just dries that way- i have this little piece of hair on my right side that curls up- lol annnooooyyyiiinnggg!!!

How do I get rid of the annoying bend in my hair???

I have the WORST hair, how can I get it to unfriz, untangle, and managable?

I'm twelve years old, and I never bothered to brush my hair. It's like a really really dark brown and when wet (or just pulled really hard) it goes down almost (ALMOST) halfway down my back. It sticks out everywhere, brushes hurt, I dont have a comb line thing, when it's wet it takes forever to dry and when it does it gets all rough and smelly, it's tangly and frizzy, and it's always messy.

What can I do to get it less messy? Tips please ;)

I have the WORST hair, how can I get it to unfriz, untangle, and managable?

First of all brush it before you get in the shower. When you brush just grab small sections at a time. It will take a while but it will be worth it. Then use a really good cleansing shampoo. Scrub it into your roots (not with your nails, fingers!!!). Then Condition. When you come out of the shower GENTLY squeeze your hair with a towel. That will get water out of it and make it dry a little faster because the towel absorbs moisture. Dont rub though! That will make hair frizzy!!! Now after that, comb your hair. The conditioner should have made it easy to comb/brush. Dont brush your hair when its wet, its not healthy for your hair. Then put a frizz control serum or hair lotion on your hair and apply it lightly. Too much will make your hair greasy. Then let it air dry or blowdry however you like and it should be soft and easy to brush...Just ALWAYS brush your hair everyday. Otherwise it gets Tangly.

Garnier sleek n shine leave in cream

I have the WORST hair, how can I get it to unfriz, untangle, and managable?

first when ur taking a shower adn u put conditioner on ur hair comb it out adn then when u finsh comin it and gettin all the knots out rinse ur hair then when u get out the shower juss leave it out and let it air dry and then put the hair lotion called PINK and just let it out and dry

I have the WORST hair, how can I get it to unfriz, untangle, and managable?

ID GET A COMB.

you shouldnt brush your hair when its wet.

and when your hair drys .... start from the bottom then work your way up... (less painful)

brushing your hair too much strips it of its natural oils (which it needs) and id shampoo everyother day(still using conditioner)... it sounds likeyou just have dry hair that need to be taken care of better...

STAY AWAY FROM FLAT IRONS.... it only makes the frizz worse. oh and let the conditioner sit .... dont rinse right away.

I have the WORST hair, how can I get it to unfriz, untangle, and managable?

first of all, its very important to brush your hair. when you don't that gets it even more tangled. i have very curly, curly hair, and my hair goes to my middle back. what i do is when you take a shower, use a lot of shampoo and conditioner. when washing your hair, comb through it with your hands. as soon as you get out of the shower, brush your hair for about 15 minutes. it may hurt when you brush but thats suppose to happen. you need to get all the tangles out and make sure that your hair is healthy. i hope i helped, and you can email me for more information!

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

since i wont have to comb it and cause breakage while the braids are in.

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

It won't make it healthier if anything the hair will get damaged from the braids being too tight.

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

I don't know if egyptians ever braided their hair or not.

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

sometimes if you use greese

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

Thats what I hear!

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

no

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

When I had dreads, it broke at about 4 inches. If you want long straight hair, you really just have to stick to wearing a hat or cover when you sleep and being careful about it getting wet since you may be using chemicals to straighten it.

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

i'm asian. so therefore.. i have no clue.

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

It's my understanding that through experience as well reading about hair, it will become brittle if it's constantly pulled to tight, as for helping it grow? I do not think that stress on the roots are going to help it grow more, it's a healthy scalp, and regular washing that is going to help, also scalp stimulation that will promote healthy growth

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

well braids are a good way to go but you must maintain it wash your hair and before you get your braids done get your ends clipped first and if you perm your hair do it every 2 months to keep it strong then every two months get your end clipped and watch it grow ok

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

On some girls it looks good but When do you ever wash it?

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

NO! Braids won't make your hair longer or stronger or healthier! Braids, most of the time are so time that it causes a lot of stress to your hair and your hair ends up falling out when you take the braids out! I hate braids! I just had some for 2 weeks, and when I took them down and shampooed my hair, clumps of my hair was going down the drain! It causes too much breakage, so don't do it!

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

It really depends on your hair type. If you have fine hair then it may break your hair especially if you leave them in for a long time. If your hair is thick and strong enough it may grow your hair. You should also make sure the person who braids your hair knows what they are doing. Some people braid too tight and it makes your edges fall out. Your hair will shed once you take them out so if your hair has a tendency to shed a lot now then I wouldn't get them. I've had micros once and I only left them in a month because I wanted to see what would happen. My hair shed a lot. I haven't put anymore in, I don't want to risk it.

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

of cause yes heathier but seing that you have short hair you might not have it long

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

For black girls the rubber bands break off ur ends and DON'T PUT WEAVE IN UNLESS UR DESPERATE!

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

it will make your hair grow but healthier i don't think so

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

Personally, No. I doesn't help. Yes it makes most of us lot cutier and more boys like us because we have long fake hair. But really, you can get bumps from them being to tight, and it breaks of your hair especailly with small braids (micros) and when you use rubber bands at the ends. Also, burning it is not the best thing to do because you may burn your real hair by mistake then lose all of your hair. It also my make you bald. That happend to a girl that I go to school with. My advice: Wrap you hair often. French braid it (one big braid not tight), Comb it (not to much), Brush it 100x a day, read Black Hair Magazines for more information.

Good Luck.

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

actually it could help if you have thick fuzzy hair if you don't have fuzzy hair and your hair is real fine that would not be a good idea, remember to keep it oiled.....but not to oily, your braids should only last for a maximum of three weeks any more than that your hair will try to lock and when you take it out then your hair will start shedding, but to keep your hair nice and fresh while your hair is braided go to the hair store and get dry shampoo, where you put the liquid on your scalp and wipe it off with a towel especially if you like to swim you will really need that because the chlorine will eat the hair away and break it off, also what would be a better idea, rather your hair is long or short to wear weave, weave will keep your real hair protected, and who ever is braiding your hair tell them not to braid to tight or to loose.

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

i get my hair braided all the time and my hair grow you just need to take care of it when it is braided like put hair food greese in between of the braids so your hair wont dry out then tie it down when you go to bed so it will look neat get your hair done every two weeks thats the only thing i can say because thats what i do

Will hair braiding (for an african amercian girl) make my hair get healthier and grow lonhger?

Your hair is not short i keep my hair in braids (croshades) (i think that's how you spell it) and that makes it grow a lot but I keep it in for 2-3 months. you should keep your hair in braids until you think it starts looking bad or until you think it's time to take it down.

What is the best way to chemically relax curly/very frizzy hair?

My hair currently becomes the closest thing to an afro that a white girl can get when I comb it, and I was looking around on makeoversolutions.com to see what I would look like with a straighter style and really liked this one

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y244/sa...

I would try relaxing my hair so that it wouldn't need so much straightening to get it like this

Last time I had my hair relaxed though, I paid $80 at a hair salon and I saw no difference at all. Is it hopeless for me?

What is the best way to chemically relax curly/very frizzy hair?

I have straight hair but it is VERY frizzy.

My mom's a hairstylist so here's what i do:

1. Take a shower

2. Blow dry my hair until it's a little damp.

3. But in Paul Mitchell Gloss Drops (My mom's hair salon has a lot of Paul Mitchell products.)

4. Blog dry it the rest of the way.

5. Flat iron my hair and make it straight =)

How do I get my temples to grow? (And more question about afro hair)?

1) My temples will not grow. I stopped braiding them. They won't grow. I stopped relaxing them. They won't grow! I look bald!

2) When you relax your hair, do you relax all the hair or just new growth?

3) How can you safely learn to relax your own hair?

4) What is a good flat iron that will straighten kinky roots and last long? Or a hot comb that is safe to use on your own?

How do I get my temples to grow? (And more question about afro hair)?

ive heard that carrot oil is good for strengthening your hair and encouraging growth. there is also regro, for african american women

relaxers are not good for your hair. yes, you are only supposed to relax the new growth, but relaxers thin and eventually break your hair.

as for the flat iron, i have no clue. i keep being told that any heat on your hair thins it and breaks it...we just cant win. i guess its best to be under a beautician, who can look out for the well-being of your hair. If you got under a good beautician, your hair would be healthy and it would grow like you would not believe. its just a matter of being able to afford going to a beautician once or twice a week. you should look for a ceramic flat iron that doesnt get too hot, so as not to burn your hair...maybe one that has a set temperature, and doesnt go beyond that. also, if you cant afford a beautician, maybe you can just talk to one and get some advice. good luck.

i just recently quit relaxing my hair, and im using carrot oil, and it seems to be working a bit. i do use heat on my hair, but a very minimal amount.

How do I get my temples to grow? (And more question about afro hair)?

Chi's are the best straightners there jsut really expensive but if your looking for something cheaper go with Revlon

How do I get my temples to grow? (And more question about afro hair)?

I think your sides/temples are bald due to damage from relaxing, straightening, braiding, hot combing and flat ironing.. You've stated that you don't do any of those things to your temples anymore, but reversing the damage you've done in the past takes some time. It does not go away after not relaxing or frying it for a few months.

Your hair needs some tender loving care, freedom from heat and a vacation from the chemicals (all over - not just the temples)

What's the condition of the rest of your hair???

How do I get my temples to grow? (And more question about afro hair)?

1) have you tried "fertilizing temple balm" or "fertilizing serum" by Organic root stimulator? Go to a beauty supply store and ask about what they have to treat hair loss. They have a lot of products on the market. You need to hurry and act now because hair loss doesnt get better with time.

2) when you relax your hair just relax the new growth. If you relax everything it could cause breakage or damage your hair. You should ask a stylist to be sure. It might be ok to just start with the new growth, leave it for a while, then apply to the rest of the hair and leave it for 2 or 3 minutes.

3) You could ask a stylist or get a book on the subject. the link below has some books on black hair.

4)a ceramic iron is better than a hot comb on relaxed hair. The Chi iron is supposed to be the best. You could get it ( or a cheaper ceramic iron) at a beauty supply

How do I get my temples to grow? (And more question about afro hair)?

1) Start messaging your scalp. hairline and temple areas with a hair dressing that contains natural herbs, vitaimns and minerals. I suggest you use African Pride. Do this at least two times a week.

2) When it's a virgin perm I do the whole head, when it's touch up time, just do the roots or the new growth only.

3) I always done my own hair. Just remember, don't apply ther relaxer to scalp,, don't scratch your scalp prior to relaxing and follow the instructions to a T.

4. I try not to use heated appliance to my hair. If you do buy a hot comb so you can get to the roots and hair line area better. I bought my hot comb from Sallys Beauty Supply. With the wide spaces between the teeth.

How do I get my temples to grow? (And more question about afro hair)?

In order for your temples to grow back, you are going to have to stop relaxing it. Stop putting tension on it by flat ironing it. You are literally burning and pulling the hair out of your head. Stop trying to conform and love your natural nappy self!!!Remove the kinks from your brain not your hair!!!!
