What exactly do they use when you get your hair razor cut?

Is it a straight razor? Or do they use some other razor bladed device? I think I saw a product called a razor comb....

I have another question too:

I saw something online about trimming up bangs between visits as well... it said to use a single bladed razor and not one with double of triple blades... does that mean they were recommending using disposable razors like you would shave your legs with to trim up your bangs??

I've always had layered hair and I prefer it to be more choppy... but my hair needs updating BAD! This time i want to try to have someone razor cut it... a lot of people do it themselves at home... I'm not one to ever have good luck when someone else cuts my hair...

So what would I use if I wanted to do it myself??

Buy that at a beauty salon (I'm not sure where they sell it), but yeah. You can try using that to cut your hair because that's what the hair stylist was using when they cut my hair last time. I cut my own hair now, but I use scissors to cut my hair.

I just use scissors...go to a different hair salon. Some of the ones in the country are really good, they have their shop in the country because a chair in a salon coast to much. The lady i go to use to work at Pennies, her chair there coast 750.00 a month.

Oh my goodness, please do not use a disposable razor on your bangs! What we use to razor hair is indeed a straight razor, but we usually have some sort of guard over the blade which will make the razor only take out the hair that is not guarded. The razor combs are the same, except they have a comb attached, and the guard stays fixed, unlike a regular razor where you can put different guards on. My razor actually plugs in and gets hot, so it seals your ends as it cuts them so they are not prone to splitting like most razor cuts are. Please do not try razoring your own hair, if you do it wrong you will end up with very thin, ratty looking ends. It is hard to find a stylist you like - I wish I lived near you so I could help!
