Help with my very long hair !!!?

My hair is very long ( to the middle of my a** ) Not only is it long, it very thick and semi-curly. The problem is I can't seem to find a good product to keep it from poofing out all over. If I just comb it and let it dry it's a complete mess. I have tried all kinds of styling products and nothing seems to help much, I need to try to find one that is cheap because I need to use so much of it at once. Any advice?

to define waves try bedhead curls rock. it looks like a little can, but a little goes a long long way. or what i use is frederick fekkai olive oil glossing cream. im always tryin out different products, and seem to always go back to this one

i have curly hair too, although its not as long as yours. combing my hair never works because it just gets all puffy and frizzy. is that the problem you have?

if so, you might want to try mousse if you havent already. it's good because it controls frizz and isnt as concentrated as gel, which makes the result look more natural. And, there are many different brands, so I'm sure you could find one that works best for your hair and costs less.

First of all, I suggest you have it cut, not necessarily the length, but have it layered and thinned proffessionally. Have you got straighteners. If you invest in some good ones, like GHDs, they'll make your hair look much better. As for the products, it's hard for someone to suggest one, because everyone's hair reacts differently - you'll just have to try a few more.

I wouldn't know of any products as i live in NZ, and you (most likely) live in the US...

Anyway have you tried an anti-frizz serum, or something similar would be something that looks sort of oily.. don't put too much of this near your scalp and it will look greasy.

Don't wash it every single day as this strips the hairs natural oils out, and try not combing/brushing it after you wash it as this could be adding to the thickness problem.

Have you tried straightening it before?

Well my hair isn't as long as yours(it's a few inches form the top of my butt), but when I brush it the bottom poofs out a lot too.

All I do is use A LOT of conditioner at the ends, and just air dry my hair. Sometimes I brush it, sometimes I don't.

I heard that brushing your hair while it's wet it bad but I do that sometimes anyway. I did get a wide toothed comb for Christmas and have been using that.

If you let it dry naturally it(in my case anyway) makes your hair looks really nice and shiny

( I don't know much about products because I hardly do anything to my hair)

You could always just buy one of those family sized bottles of conditioner from the dollar store or something

i know what u mean... i have the same type of hair and its almost to my a$$. well this should help.. it helps my hair, it also keeps it healthy.. i damaged mine a few years ago... take a spray bottle put a couple of drops of your conditioner in it, then fill it the rest of the way with water....shake it well....then just spray it in your hair and brush ur hair... it should keep the frizz away and give u a nice smooth glow. my aunt is the one i had to thank for that...she's a beautician. but it works wonders :)
