I have really long hair....?

....and its thick and dark brown with a red tint to it (especially in the sun). My hair is pretty healthy and shiny right now, but there is always room for improvement. So, any tips or ideas on how to make it look better? Here's what I am doing already : I shampoo and condition it daily, I blowdry it (sorry, but thats a must because if I didn't it would take hours for my hair to dry completely and it wouldn't have as much volume), when its wet I don't use a brush but a wide tooth comb.......any other ideas? thanks!

Maybe you could start making it stick straight my using a straightening iron? Or you could start braiding it really tight before bed (when it is mostly dry) and have "angel" hair in the morning?

I Have the Same Problem With Thick long Brown Hair!! So What I Do Is When I Put Conditiner In My Hair I Let It Set A While Then When I Rinse It Out I Brush my hair While Its rinsing... and it usually gets all of the tangles out!!

Your hair sounds amazing! I also have relatively long hair- it's below mid-back. My only recommendation is to not wash it every day. You can get away with washing it every other day or every three days so that you don't dry out the hair. If your hair is straight, you'll complain of 'oily roots' but once you begin washing it less often, it will remain clean longer (you won't be stimulating the scalp to produce oil to keep it from drying).

And though I know you hate to hear it- blowdry less! If you absolutely have to blow-dry it, get a thermal leave-in conditioner that actually treats your hair as you blow-dry it. Also, make sure your conditioner has protection against sun!

Sounds like you know your hair is perfect and what your actually looking for in your hairstyle is a change. I would sujest that since your hair is extremely long, donating 10 inches of it to LOCKS OF LOVE. It really is a great organization and doing this would allow you to take a break from all that work on your hair and also change your whole look! It would absolutely wow your friends and you would feel good about doing it. GOOD LUCK!

trim it often. long hair is hard to handle so if you want to make it easier for youself you should just cut it.

get it shorter in the front

and wear it in different hairstyles
