Can I have long and pretty hair??

I have VERY thick black hair and it wants to "fluff" up or "poof" up when it dries with nothing in it. I want to let it grow long but I want it to lay flat and straight. I once put a straightener in it and it stayed straight of course, but it stayed styled the way it was combed when the chemical was put in...

My goal, I want it to be shoulder length, soft and flowing...like in the commericals.. :) your help is appreciated!

I have long hair and I definitly know what you mean. Here is what I do to make my hair "flowy" looking:

1. I use this shampoo and conditioner set called redeken (you can but it at a salon or department store)

2. Instead of blow-drying right away, I kind of towel dry it a little.

3. Next I put some mousse by Bed-Head called "Get Your Hair Straight" (litterly)

4. I then use one of those dryers that has the brush on it to blow dry and style my hair at the same time.

5. Just add a teeny bit of moisturizing hairspray and VIOLA! you have straight, long, flowy hair!

Aaah.... the battle between hair and people lol. Umm, you tried straightening it right? Then how about a shampoo that kinda makes it straight. If not straight it makes it less frizzy.

a friend of mine has very thick coarse hair and there isnt anything she can do to make it soft and silky....she keeps it layered to keep the thickness down and it looks decent that way....i feel for ya...mine is totally the opposite....very fine and that is a pain in the @ss too

This is the best answer i could give you. I go to Bubbles the salon and my stylists uses the CHI Flat Iron on my hair. Make sure you get a great blow-dry and then use the CHI Flat Iron. It works miracles. I don't get perms and I've went natural and everyone thinks i get perms because my hair is so straight then sometimes she uses to the iron to make it flowy and soft. The iron is $120. but well worth it.

grow it long and use a fortifying conditioner (i like garnier fructice) then after it is dry straighten it with a flat iron the best you can get is a ceramic straightener, but any will work. i have one called rimmington wet to straight that isn't ceramic, but the way it is designed you can straighten it while your hair is still wet and it will dry it for ya, cutting down on the time it takes you to get ready and damage to your hair, you can get it at walmart for about 30 dollars. thats how i manage my hair, and believe me it took me years to figure out

my hair is the same way.i use pantene pro V and it works reeeeeeeaaaaaaaly good.

then with damp hair put anti snap in it.blow dry your hair.then, when when your done with that, put bio silk in your hair.then straiten.while straitening, put bio silk in every couple pieces of hair you straiten.then comb! that should do the trick!!!!!!!!!
