How do I make my pressed African hair stop sticking up oddly?

Every 2-4wks I get my hair pressed and flat-ironed and it looks nice for around two weeks. Then after a while if I move my head or even walk it sticks up away from my head and gets poofy and I have to comb it back only to have it do it again. I flat-iron it every three days and use Black%26amp;Sassy wrapping sheen and it looks nice until I move. How do I get this to stop? I can't get a relaxer, my mom think I'm too young/it's too expensive (it's $25 to get my hair pressed and flat-ironed every time and $50 to get it relaxed every eight weeks it equals out!) Is there anyway to convince her to let me get it relaxed instead? Or any tips to get my hair to stop sticking up oddly...? Also I can't get my hair done more often and I can't get a job (I'm 14). Please help?

Maybe you should tell mom how the money equals out (@$25.00 every 2 wks =$100.00 for 2 months/relaxer every 8wks =$50.00 for 2 months which is cheaper that pressing and ironing every 2 wks) and with a relaxer you can shampoo and style your own hair in between relaxers. There are different products on the market so you may have to experiment to find one that works for you., but that can get more expensive than a relaxer every 8 weeks. Then there is always the options of braids. Less stress and fuss! Good Luck!

You can try putting a little spritz on your hair at night, before you tie your hair up, that should help your hair from sticking up. Getting a relaxer might also help depending on the type of hair you have. Or you can just get your hair done in certain styles where you, or anyone else won't be able to tell that your hair is poofy, Like updo hairstyles, braids, twist, buns ect.

I hope that helps.....good luck!
