Hair .. split ends :(?

whats the best thing to do with long hair that seems to have loads of split ends ... i'm really not sure i want it cutting that drasticly..

i'm sure i saw a comb somewhere that was only supposed to snip off the split ends .. but can't find it now

so folks what do you do .... ?

Have it just trimmed, not a drastic cut. Then have it trimmed regular every 6-8weeks.

I pick my split ends when I'm bored LOL. But that's not good. Just get your hair trimmed regularly and you'll have little to no split ends.

You have to cut off split ends, full stop. But you don't have to be drastic about it.... go to a hairdressers and get layers put into your long hair....

Have just the ends cut. It doesn't mean cut 5 inches off! Just a Cut off the ends. You can do it yourself! It's easy.

The only thing to do is to cut it. I had my hair ALMOST to my butt, just about 2 inches away and I had BAD split ends. I got 3 inches taken off but that didn't help, the hair was still splitting. Recently I just chopped it all off and now my hair is chin length. Obviously you don't want it that short so don't. But you do need to make sure you get ALL the split ends (some are even mid shaft) and then take an additional inch or two off. I don't know how long you want to keep it but this might require taking a little more than you want. It shouldn't be bad though and it does grow back!

Oh, and the comb thing is basically a comb with a razor attached close to the teeth, usually that gives texture and not a great tool for dry or brittle hair that is splitting.

First, get your hair trimmed. It doesnt have to be very drastic if you dont want it to be. I also think getting layers would be a good idea for long hair.

Then, you should buy a conditioner (it should be from a salon) a really good one that will restore your hair and purify it.

If you go to a hair dresser they will cut off the split ends. Until then I would try to wash your hair less because the chemicals in shamppo and conditioner create split ends.

Put some coconut oil on your hair, or some extra strenthening cream - You should first get the ends trimmed, like an inch or so.. not much so it doesnt look drastic =]

cutting ur split ends is the most effective way to restore ur hair's natural ability to grow.

I wouldn't advise you do it yourself as it will just keep splitting up the shaft of the hair even after you cut the split ends off, so you'd end up having to get a lot more cut off then you need to.

Don't straighten it or use any heat appliances because that will make the damage even worse, use leave in conditioners every time you wash your hair when its 70% dry and use a deep conditioner or a hot oil treatment. Lee Stafford do very good ones for under 鎷?0 in boots.

But eventually you will need to get your hair cut professionally.

My hair is really split too, going half way up the hair shaft. Use a deep conditioner and wrap hair in a warm towel, keeping it on for 20 minutes at least. Also, use a leave in condiotner and keep straighteners of hair.

I have heard about this comb thing that just cuts the split ends off, i dont know the name of it. Just keep it tied up in a ponytail and let it get some grow, and then go and have it cut.
